For Immediate Release Residents Of Prince Edward Hastings Getting Active NEWS Four local organizations have received a total of $52,715 through the Ontario government’s Communities in Action Fund (CIAF). CIAF provides funding to not-for-profit organizations at the local and provincial levels to improve opportunities for community sport and physical activity. This funding will allow local organizations to enhance or develop the following programs:
“This funding will provide people in our communities with a chance to be more active,” said MPP Leona Dombrowsky. “The additional programs that will be created or enhanced with these grants will help to increase opportunities for residents in Prince Edward-Hastings to be more physically fit.” “The McGuinty government is committed to working at the community level to improve rates of physical activity,” said Health Promotion Minister Margarett Best. “Programs funded through the Communities in Action Fund are important in our efforts to provide all Ontario families with a chance to participate in sport and recreation.” QUICK FACTS
