McGuinty Government Invests In Health Promotion In The Town Of Bancroft

L’Amable — Leona Dombrowsky, MPP for Prince Edward-Hastings announced today that the Town of Bancroft will receive a grant of $18,875 from the Ministry of Health Promotion Communities in Action Fund.

“Our government is pleased to invest in this program that will provide children and youth under the age of 18 in Bancroft and area, with a new opportunity to become more physically active and to encourage them to develop a healthy lifestyle” said Leona Dombrowsky.

This CIAF project has two key components. The first is a new swim program which will include the training of new recreation leaders and the purchase of water safety and teaching equipment.

The second is the production and distribution of a new, local physical activity guide for the Town of Bancroft. This guide will consolidate current sport, physical activity and recreation opportunities for all ages and abilities offered by service providers in the community.
