McGuinty government improving care at L&A Hospital
Lennox & Addington County General Hospital to receive $10.1 million for expansion
NAPANEE The McGuinty government is providing $10.1 million to the Lennox & Addington County General Hospital to assist with its capital expansion project, Leona Dombrowsky MPP announced today.
Lennox & Addington County General Hospital will now have the funds to move forward with these much needed capital improvements, said Dombrowsky, MPP for Hastings-Frontenac-Lennox & Addington. Our government is making sure that residents of our community have the best possible access to services in state-of-the-art hospital facilities.
The funding will help the hospital advance construction of a new 24-bed complex continuing care wing, expand emergency and outpatient care services, renovate its surgical suite and increase the number of acute care beds.
We are delighted with todays announced funding, said Arthur Ronald, Executive Director of the Lennox & Addington County General Hospital. The support weve received today will help provide the people of Lennox & Addington with enhanced access to quality health care for many years to come.
This investment by the Ontario government is part of a $184-million contribution towards total capital project costs for specific hospitals. It is intended to boost local fundraising efforts and help hospitals with their cash flow as they move forward.
Todays announcement means patients will have greater access to emergency, outpatient, day surgery and complex continuing care in the future, said Dombrowsky. It will also enable up to 1,000 local residents to receive care closer to home, instead of travelling out of the community.
