Bancroft Public Library receives funding boost
Grant will support family literacy

BANCROFT – Leona Dombrowsky, MPP for Hastings-Frontenac-Lennox-Addington, today presented a cheque for $10,500 to the Bancroft Public Library.

“Library users of all ages will benefit from this investment by the McGuinty government to support family literacy and lifelong learning,” said Dombrowsky.

The funding is part of an investment of $126,000 in public libraries across Central and North Hastings County. The funding will be shared by nine libraries serving the communities of Bancroft, Coe Hill, Gilmour, Madoc, Marmora, Maynooth, Stirling and Tweed.

The grants will allow the libraries to expand their collections, upgrade technology, bolster the inter-library loan system, and develop new programs to support family literacy.
