Leona joined Loyalist College president Maureen Piercy to announce a major provincial investment in facility upgrades.
Loyalist College receives $1.1 million for campus improvements

BELLEVILLE — The McGuinty government is investing more than $1.1 million to make campus improvements at Loyalist College, Leona Dombrowsky MPP announced today.

“Our government is improving the quality of postsecondary education for students at Loyalist by investing in key campus improvements,” said Dombrowsky. “This investment will improve the learning environment for students, and it will also provide a boost to the local economy.”

Dombrowsky announced that Loyalist will receive $1,104,700 to help the college complete priority projects related to energy efficiency and campus safety, and to make upgrades and improvements to existing facilities. The funding is provided through the McGuinty government’s Campus Renewal Fund.

“We welcome today’s announcement of capital funds for campus upgrades,” said Maureen Piercy, President of Loyalist College. “We have several projects related to facility upgrades, energy efficiency and campus safety which can be completed because of this new funding through the Campus Renewal Fund, and which will benefit the learning environment at Loyalist.  It is essential to continue to maintain and make improvements to our facilities, and we are pleased that the provincial government has acknowledged this priority,” she said.

This campus renewal funding is part of the $1.4 billion announced in the Fall Economic Statement for strategic infrastructure investments.
